Video advertising specialist Innovid has raised $10 million in new capital, which it will use to fund on-going development of interactive advertising for television.
Cisco Investments has become a new investor in the company in the round, while all original investors, including Genesis Partners, Sequoia Capital and T-Venture, also participated.
Cisco and Innovid have worked together for some time. For instance, the two have jointly developed a solution for contextual advertising for second screens using keywords. For example, when a talk show host says the word “tablet” on a television show, within a few seconds, an interactive ad for the day’s top tablet appears on the viewer’s nearby device. The two showed off the solution at CES 2015.
